🙋♂️ Are you really procrastinating…?
…or working against what’s natural for you? If you’re finding it hard to get something done, reconsider when you do the task.
Adam Grant suggests ‘a dull task becomes deflating when you’re only half-awake. If that’s you, shifting tasks that you often put off to later in the day can help’.
Grant’s argument is that you should learn to “Manage Your Emotions, Not Your Time”. Interesting read!
💖 Are you a perfectionist?
Perfectionism may be destroying your productivity.
There’s a phenomenon that producers at Pixar (the animation studio) call “The Beautifully Shaded Penny” - ie sometimes the film artists/animators care SO much about the details, they spend weeks crafting something you’ll never see.
